How are campers grouped?Campers are placed in groups based on the grade they are entering in Fall 2024. All groups will enjoy our full program schedule, as well as an added focus on life skills critical for that particular age group. Ponytails (K-1st) - Combines sports exposure with a focus on big body movement, balance, and coordination, as well as projects and play that reinforce the skills and lessons they are learning each day. Campers in this group must be turning 5 years old by the kindergarten cut-off of 10/1/2024. Half Day Option: For campers entering kindergarten, we offer a half day morning option. Please contact us for more information. Rookies (2nd-3rd) - Added focus on developing confidence in their abilities, good sportsmanship, fair play, and compassion for fellow teammates. Leaders (4th-5th) - Added focus on how to work together as a team on and off the field/court. This includes elements of relationship building, acceptance, building/respecting boundaries, and more. Masters (6th-8th) - Added focus on leadership and maintaining a foundation of confidence and resilience through the sometimes challenging middle school years.

What if my camper is not a skilled athlete and/or has never played various sports? We welcome ALL skills and abilities at Game On! and provide the perfect environment for all to safely explore sports in a supportive environment while having a blast. Whether your camper's experience ultimately heightens her confidence and interest in certain sports or she is in it for the pure joy, she will thrive.
-
My camper is a competitive athlete already. What will she gain from attending Game On!?Game On! can offer your competitive athlete the opportunity to continue doing what she loves (sports!) just for fun and free of pressure. At Game On!, we subscribe to the theory that after an intense and competitive school year, they may need to lay back and have some fun enjoying other sports. In addition, comparable to the benefits accrued from cross training, participation in other sports may very well lead to improvement in the core areas of their specialty sports. (i.e. the footwork and reflex work demanded in tennis will most definitely lead to increased quickness in other sports.)
-
Is Game On! Boulder a competitive camp? Not exactly. Our focus is on meeting each camper where they are in terms of skills and abilities in a variety of sports, while also working as a team and with good sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership, amongst other valuable life skills. Since we are playing sports, however, there is some element of competitiveness during game play. Game On! is not about the pressure to win, though. Rather how to have healthy competition, take risks, celebrate mistakes, and work through challenges in a fun and supportive environment.

I read that my daughter will grow as an athlete AND a person. How do you accomplish personal growth?Teaching and enforcing sound values and making smart choices pervade every aspect of camp. Not a minute goes by without attention to building solid character as we incorporate values such as good sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, effort, perseverance, etc. into each and every day. We celebrate our strong bodies, we talk about specific issues that face girls, we occasionally watch motivational videos, and from time-to-time, we bring in accomplished professionals to tell their stories. Each day starts with our Game On! pledge: I STRIVE TO BE GIRL STRONG. STRONG IN BODY, STRONG IN MIND, AND STRONG IN TEAM. GAME ON!
-
How is the typical camp day structured? The typical Game On! camp day combines learning, individually-paced skill building, and fun play. Our camp day starts at 8:30 am and ends at 3:30 pm, with the option of after camp care until 5:30 pm. We begin our day with an all-camp huddle reviewing our day, and reciting our Game On! pledge. Mornings are reserved for skill-building with our compassionate and highly skilled coaching staff in our core sports, which may include basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, field hockey, soccer, softball, and tennis. Afternoons vary by day, and may include optional sports, Healthier4me discussions, team-building games/activities, special projects, in-house clinics, water play, yoga, special events, and more. Afternoons are also when we may welcome partners to run clinics in sports and activities such as flag football, flag rugby, golf, handball, Ultimate Frisbee, Spikeball, dance, hula hooping, etc. Each day concludes with another all-camp huddle to wrap up our day, provide announcements for the next day, give shout-outs to our teammates, and enjoy an ice-cold popsicle.
-
Is each camp week the same? While our days/weeks have a general structure, no two weeks look the same! Each week brings new skills and development in our core sports, different activities and partner clinics, fun theme days, and a new Healthier 4 Me topic. A calendar of events can be found in the "Camp Calendar" tab and will be updated as we add new activities and partners. And, no matter when your camper joins us during the summer, we work hard to meet them where they are in terms of skills and knowledge, and to help them seamlessly integrate into their team.
-
Are you an all outdoor camp? While much of our programming takes place outside, we do use indoor space as well throughout the day. When it is exceptionally hot, rainy, there is lightning, dangerous winds, or inclement weather, all programming will move inside for the safety of our campers and staff.
-
Will my camper do anything besides play sports?Absolutely! Weāre a sports camp that also incorporates and cherishes traditional summer camp culture (who loves spontaneous dance parties and friendship bracelets?). In addition to weekly traditions such as our Horseshoe Welcome Ceremony, Giving Tuesday, and Challenge Friday, campers participate in special events such as Game On!ās Got Talent, World Games Week, Halloween in July, Decades Day, Crazy Socks Day, Be Your Own Superhero Day, Tie-Dye Week, and more. Finally, each week we also have a team challenge that may include creating a banner, skits, cheers, dances, handshakes, etc.
-
Can my camper go home with another camper?Yes, however please make sure that the adult/guardian your camper is going home with is listed as an Authorized Pick Up. This includes ANYONE who will be picking up your camper, including other parents/step-parents and legal guardians. For safety purposes, your camper will not be permitted to leave camp with anyone not on your authorized pick up list, even if they provide I.D. If you forgot your login or have trouble adding someone to the list, or if you need to make this change after noon during camp season, please call or text our camp office at 720-893-2386.
-
What are Game On! Bouder's food policies? For the safety of all campers and to prevent unintended allergic reactions, Game On! This includes peanut butter, almond butter, Nutella, etc. For ideas on nut-free brands and foods, please see the Snack Safely Guide.
